When we live with equal parts of love, commitment and action, we find that we can move towards a state of balance and harmony. When he dedicate our achievements to a greater good we start to become clear about the meaning of our lives.

Living in balance is not always easy, especially with all the demands of the world. The things that help me to live in balance are a regular schedule, healthy meals, and living my purpose. When I wake up every day and dedicate my life to helping others, I feel as if I have done what I can to make the world better.

Sometimes I worry I am not following the right path. When I have this worry, fear and anxiety creep into my head and body. I mostly find that I worry about money and not having my needs met. I have found that If I say a prayer or request that all fear and anxiety be taken away, that I am immediately calmed. I also find that meditation helps to ease anxiety.

Daily meditation has a positive impact on the mind and also impacts the body and spirit (well beyond the moment of practice). If you meditate regularly, you will already know this. Meditation is not something that is a pleasantry that we can do, but rather, it is something that we must do. As we all take more accountability for the training of our minds, the more peaceful and happy we will be, and, the more happy everyone in our society will be.

I hope you have enjoyed the blog and that this has enticed you to find balance, find purpose and take the time to meditate.

Namaste!

The power of connecting the head and the heart leads to strong intuition, great leadership and optimal health. The more connected you are to all aspects of yourself, the more you will find that your intuition increases and the better you will be able to relate to others, and, to your self. Most westerners operate solely from the head and fail to tune into the messages of the body. When the body does speak up and share a message about the path to health, the message is often discounted or disregarded.

I was talking to a friend recently that is just recovering from serious surgery. I had just returned back to work and I saw him after his second day back. He was sitting outside his house drinking a cup of coffee. I said how’s it going… and he replied, really tough. I am exhausted! I asked him if he thought perhaps a nap might help… and he said, no way, then I won’t sleep at night. Instead of listening to the wisdom of his body, that was telling him he was tired, instead, he covered up this response with caffeine. The more and more that we disregard the messages of the body, the less we tune in to our true needs and the further we move from perfect health.

As a society, we are so out of tune with our inner responses, and so used to disregarding the wisdom of the body, that we get caught up in patterns and habits that do not nurture and support us, and lead us away from health.

The next time you notice your body giving you a message- and note, this may be in the form of sleepiness, a knot of anxiety, a headache, or conversely a feeling of joy and expansion, note what it is that is truly happening and what you are needing. The more in tune you are with your own feelings, sensations and thoughts, the happier you will be, and the more you will learn to nurture your intuition. As a result, you will be happier, more connected, and, life will flow with ease.

Enjoy this experiment… it begins with the breath and tuning in. Don’t change your breath in any way, just notice the flow of your breath in and out of your nose. Pay attention to it as you count to 30- count one on the inhale, and two on the exhale. Then, close your eyes and notice any subtle feelings in your body. You may notice tension in areas and expansion in other areas. Don’t try to change your experience at all.. just notice. This is called creating the inner observer- this is mindfulness.

The more often you do this easy practice, the more you enhance what is called your executive functioning. You become able to observe your feelings, intuition, and thoughts, before you respond outwardly. This is the path to intuitive connected leadership… practice and enjoy!

If you are interested in attending my workshop, I will be at the “Meaning Conference” on Aug 5-8. 2010 in Vancouver, B.C. Check out the INPM (International Network on Personal Meaning)- website

In my individual work with clients I am constantly amazed at how the power of prayer and setting an intention at the beginning of a session brings powerful results. As I assist my clients to connect with their breath, miracles and magics results. It is so often after I have people do a short mediation on the breath, that they talk about how their higher power supports them. Staying in the present moment is not always easy.. and staying in the present moment in our bodies is often harder. As I work with people in a mindful way, they get in touch with their inner strengths and resources. Power, openness and abundance that was previously hidden by fear and self-doubt is revealed as the false sense of who we are lifts, and our essence is revealed.
